Privacy notice
Your Stead privacy.
When you visit Stead’s landing or signup pages, we may keep privacy-minimized first-touch attribution in a signed stead_session cookie for up to 14 days. It can include bounded campaign codes, a referral source, the landing path, a timestamp, and—only when you arrive from a recognized search provider—the provider’s hostname. It does not store your IP address, a full referring URL, or browser details.
If you create an account, we store that first-touch attribution with the account details you provide and your selected membership. We use it to preserve your signup choice, understand whether permission-based campaigns lead to activated and healthy customer accounts, and improve the product. If you use an author’s referral link, we also keep the link that introduced your account and the first paid order and the status of the referring author’s earned month so we can deliver the referral offer. The referring author can see verified-signup, paying-referral, and earned/applied-month counts for each of their links, but not referred names or email addresses. Separate customer-operations views may show internal account IDs and public Stead site hostnames so we can operate and support the service.
If you previously joined the Stead early-access list, we may retain the email address, join time, and campaign values you provided so we can manage that historical list record and honor privacy requests.
When a Stead author connects a mailing-list provider, an email address submitted through that author’s public signup form is sent to the provider and list the author selected. For EmailOctopus connections, Stead passes the address to EmailOctopus using the list’s opt-in policy and does not add the address to Stead’s database. The author and their mailing-list provider are responsible for the resulting subscriber record and communications.
If you book the setup session included with your membership, scheduling is handled by Google Calendar on Google’s site. Google’s booking page shows the information it requests and its applicable terms. Do not include passwords, API keys, or subscriber data in scheduling details.
Account and historical early-access records are stored in Stead’s Cloudflare-hosted database and are available only to the people operating Stead. We do not sell them. Checkout is handled by Polar, which shows applicable tax and payment terms before you pay.
We keep account information while your account is active and as needed to operate, secure, and account for the service. We keep historical early-access information while that list record remains needed or until you ask us to delete it. To ask for a copy of your information or to request deletion, contact audrey@feldroy.com.
